In the Air

"I thought the 'A' stood for automobile, not air travel."

When AAA was founded in 1902, automobile travel was new. From that first day, the association has worked to improve the safety and convenience for travelers.

Surprising to many people, AAA has a strong interest in a safe and efficient aviation system.

Why? AAA is the nation's largest leisure travel organization, serving 50 million members in the United States and Canada and operating more than 1,100 accredited, full-service travel agencies.

Thus, AAA is dedicated to improving the quality and safety of the nation's roadways and air travel infrastructure and is committed to ensuring that AAA members and the traveling public enjoy safe and positive travel experiences.
