Alternative Fuels

Biofuels, renewable fuels and hydrogen are just a few examples of alterna tive fuels that can be used to power a vehicle. But what are alternative fuels, and how will they impact the daily lives of consumers?

The definition of alternative fuel varies. It can imply any available fuel or energy source and does not necessarily refer to a source of renewable energy.  In the context of environmental sustainability, the definition refers to an environmentally friendly renewable fuel.

As interest in alternative fuels continues to grow, consumers' understanding of them is critical for their widespread acceptance and use.
